How the ST67W611M1 works

The ST67W611M1 is a wireless connectivity module that adds Wi-Fi and Bluetooth Low Energy to a system. It works as a co-processor, meaning it handles all wireless communication while an external microcontroller (host MCU) runs the main application.

The host MCU communicates with the module through SPI or UART by sending commands such as connecting to a network or transmitting data. The module processes these commands internally and manages all Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operations, including protocol handling, radio control, and security.

The module integrates all required components, including the radio, antenna, clock, and memory. This reduces design complexity and eliminates the need for external RF circuitry. It also supports concurrent Wi-Fi and Bluetooth operation and includes built-in security features such as secure boot and firmware updates.
